SurveyMonkey Rewards
Overview
How do you turn a laborious survey-taking experience into a delightful game-like adventure? The SurveyMonkey Rewards app is the answer. It entices users to take surveys with rewards like gift cards or opportunities to donate to a charity of their choice. Leading the visual design and art direction for this project, I worked closely with a team of talented designers and product managers from Fuzz and SurveyMonkey to bring to life the SurveyMonkey Rewards iOS and Android app. Together, we built a mobile survey-taking experience that is fun and full of personality.
Getting to the Core
Design
The entire user experience can be distilled down to four primary sections: onboarding, rewards, surveys, and profile. Such a simple UX structure made it incredibly easy to focus on exploring different visual design concepts.
Thinking Outside the Box
Design
How can we make taking survey fun and engaging? Through brainstorms and sketching sessions, I pushed the art direction of this project towards a space that is more energetic and colorful that their traditional enterprise software products. My goal was to craft a look and feel that stands out from its competitors such as the Google Opinion Rewards and Panel App.
Personifying the App
Art Direction
How do we make ticking boxes sexy? The answer is a colorful appearance and a congenial personality. Manifesting in copy, illustration and motion, the final design must give off an impression that is fun, clever and fresh. From the tongue and cheek headline to the whimsical ending animation, these moments of surprise and delight humanize an often-time lackluster survey-taking experience.
